MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Sacred Heart Catholic School is to prepare students to become stewards in the community by instilling in them rich catholic traditions and core values of compassion and service.  Sacred Heart faculty and staff provide a quality education and value innovation in education. Our goal is for students to become lifelong learners, as we prepare them to deal with the world today.  The Sacred Heart School community stresses the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, and physical.

BELIEFS STATEMENT

Sacred Heart School believes the faculty, staff, and families must:

bulletView each student as a unique child of God.
bulletTake responsibility to be actively involved in every aspect of the learning process of each child.
bulletEncourage students to become an integral part of the church’s mission to proclaim the gospel message of Jesus, to celebrate through worship and service to others, and to build strong faith communities.
bulletProvide a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment where students can achieve their full potential and individuality.
bulletFoster all students’ understanding and respect of cultural diversity; including       different religions, peoples, and cultures.
bulletShow mutual respect among and between the staff and school families in order to create a wholesome learning environment reflective of Christian values, which include social justice and peace.

SACRED HEART FACTS

Sacred Heart Catholic School is fully accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference and is a member of the National Catholic Education Association.  All grades from Pre-K through 8 follow curriculum guidelines as prescribed by the Diocese of St. Augustine and are in accordance with the State of Florida standards.

Sacred Heart students come from neighborhoods near and far, from Fleming Island to Riverside.  Most of our students are from parish families, but we welcome those from neighboring parishes.  Please note that our enrollment is open to students of all faiths.

·        Our students represent a broad range of economic and ethnic backgrounds with varying levels of academic ability.

·        We have a current enrollment of approximately 500 students in grades Pre-k through 8.

·        Upon graduation, many of our students attend Bishop Snyder High School.

·        Sacred Heart Catholic School is one of the strongest feeder schools for Bishop Snyder, both in numbers and academic ability.  Our graduates are well represented on Bishop Snyder honor rolls and in honor societies.

·        A SHS graduate was either valedictorian and/or salutatorian for each of the 4 graduating classes at Bishop Snyder.
